Jingletown

This neighborhoods is a strange mix of luxury lofts, run down gangland and chemical industrial. It clashes, it doesn't make sense. The chemical smell from the printing press is everywhere, across from the organic juice company. They skipped a few generations of gentrification.

I saw some Latino ladies coming from a fancy, new eco-loft. I thought, that's cool, they live there. Then I saw them dragging a vacuum cleaner.

The ubiquitous arts and crafts holdings. Even "Jose's Pallet Shop" had mosaic signage.

My favorite art, not pretentious, spontaneous, unselfconscious. Devotion.

I tried to catch the golden hour. I also tried to rescue a tiny pit that was leashed to a fence in the cold. I debated for awhile and petted. Later my friend told me that was the house of the 13th Street gang. Not a good idea.
